Example diagnosis
Fish eyes / Silicone contamination
Severity · High
  • Silicone or grease on the substrate before spraying
  • Oil contamination from hands, polish, or wax residue
  • Incompatible surface prep products left behind
The Fix
Thoroughly degrease and clean the affected area. If limited, add a fisheye eliminator to the basecoat or clear and respray. For severe cases, strip back to bare substrate, re-prime, and ensure the surface is completely free of silicone before recoating.
